“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” Deuteronomy 6:4-5

In his song “Imagine” John Lennon asked to imagine there’s no heaven or hell. He continued with us imagining no countries, no killing, and no religion too.

I want you to imagine if everyone loved God with everything they are and everything they have. Would this change the world more than the one given by Lennon?

Normally attributed to the New Testament, this scripture is rooted from the Torah. The people give this scripture did not live up to it. Neither do most that consider themselves Christian.

Imagine the effects of someone that loves God in this way when God is love. Someone that loves God would also love people in a way to treat them with compassion, kindness, mercy, and grace.
That person would love his neighbor as himself.
Such a person would not covet, lie, steal, kill, commit adultery, or dishonor elders.

Imagine all the people living in Christ’s love;
Living here on earth as if it’s heaven above.
Imagine all the people living against all sin;
No more abortion or school shootings,
No more disrespect of women or men.
Everyone loves everyone and helps all they can.
You may say I’m a dreamer but one day it will come
When the world is ruled by God’s own Son.
