Memorable Scripture: Lose yourself and find God

So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel. 2 Samuel 15:6

David forgave Absalom for killing Amnon and life returned to normal.
Except it didn’t!
Absalom became popular. He gathered chariots and a developing army.
He sat at the city gate and intercepted those coming to the king to settle their disputes. Absalom would speak to those coming and politick about his own abilities to execute justice. It wasn’t long before Absalom stole the hearts of the people.
However, David was a man after God’s own heart. (1 Sam 13:14)

Great popularity gains very little. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Mark 8:36
But godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. 1 Tim 4:8

Do you want popularity with people or to give your popularity for God? You cannot serve two masters – yourself and God!
If you serve yourself then God loses to you each time.
For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Matt 16:25
Lose yourself to God and discover a victorious life.
