So they went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands. 2 Kings 9:35
In previous writings, you have read the treachery of Queen Jezebel. I just touched on the subject. Reading the Bible for yourself reveals much more about this woman.
Concerning her demise, Elijah prophesied to King Ahab saying, “And concerning Jezebel the Lord also spoke, saying, ‘The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel’”(1 Kings 21:23) and the prophet that anointed Jehu as king also said, “The dogs shall eat Jezebel on the plot of ground at Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her.” 2 Kings 9:10
They found nothing more than her skull, hands, and feet.
I’ve often thought of the reason why.
A verse in Proverbs sheds light on this.
Prov 6:16-19
These six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are an abomination to Him: a proud look,
a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.
This perfectly describes Jezebel.
Her mind (skull) thought and executed wicked order through her mouth (skull).
Her hands performed evil deeds, like signing the letters to kill Naboth – to shed innocent blood.
Wherever her feet her, she was sure to do evil.
Jezebel died but as I said previously, the evil, spiritual intent of Jezebel continues today.
However, through prayer, discernment, and the power of God she can be dealt with.
