Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?”
So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”
Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” Job 1:6-8
This verse gives a glimpse of something that takes place in the heavenly realm and on earth.
Peter says, “Your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Peter 5:8
John reports in Revelation, “The accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.” Rev 12:10
So it is evident Satan does walk about the earth and then stands before God accusing the righteous.
What always caught my eye is how God brought Job to the attention of Satan. What follows are many hardships against a man and his blessed life.
I’ve often jokingly said, “I hope when Satan shows up before God that God doesn’t bring up my name!”
But I recant the statement. If God believes in me enough to mention me to Satan, then I believe in God enough to face what he tosses at me.
Paul says, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Eph 6:11
The armor of God protects and gives us the strength to stand against the wiles of the devil.
His very word gives that strength.
