My relatives have failed and my close friends have forgotten me. Job 19:14
“People will disappoint you! God never does!”
It was the saying on the marquee that Sunday morning when Mrs. Johnson walked up.
“That’s the truth!” she said. “My son just did something that totally shocked me!”
I don’t remember the details, but she was very hurt and felt betrayed.
I have worked at my present job for twenty-three years. In that time I made many really good, close friends that worked alongside me – some for years.
Ten really close friends moved on to other jobs. I was glad each pursued their dreams but each one moved on and forgot me.
I know I have disappointed some others too. It’s part of life.
However, God will never leave you or forsake you, something He has repeated for you in Deuteronomy 31:6, 8; Joshua 1:5; Hebrews 13:5.
God wants you to know He is here for you.
Jesus also said, “I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever — the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:16-18
Relatives fail you.
Friends forget about you.
God never does!
