Psalms 101:3
I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;

I admire David’s stance to avoid wickedness.
Certainly, the eyes see, the mind covets, and the heart lusts.
It was the longing gaze that set the wheels in motion for the first sin. It is written the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes. Gen 3:6
Jesus said whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matt 5:28) and if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you. Matt 18:9
Jesus also said the lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. Matt 6:22-23
And of course David also said, “My eyes are ever toward the Lord.” Ps 25:15
Take care of your eyes and you take care of your soul.
