Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
This always caught my attention about this Psalm – His mercy endures forever.
It prevails throughout the Psalm.
What it isn’t saying is what I notice the most.
It does not say His wrath endures forever. It does not speak of judgment or condemnation. Nor does it mention His anger.
These things pass but His mercy endures forever.
His mercy allows you to enter His presence forever.
Because of His mercy, you experience His love forever.
His mercy lets you live in the house of the Lord forever, as he said in Psalm 23.
Lamentations 3:21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. 3:22 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 3:23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Blessings for us indeed!
