Memorable Scripture: What are you thinking?

Isaiah 55:8-9
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.”

After reading this I asked myself a question, “What are my thoughts?”
I’ll try to be as honest as I can.
I’m thinking about getting a cup of coffee.
I think about some work that I need to complete.
I think about what Linda and I can do this coming weekend.
I think about church for Wednesday night and the sermon for next Sunday.
I’m thinking about what to eat for lunch, even before I eat breakfast.
I’m thinking about vacation later this year.
I’m thinking “when will I get that tax refund?”
I think about the bills.
I think about retirement.
I think about the age of our vehicles.
I think about a new roof on the barn.
I think about someone that needs Jesus as Savior.
I think about my Bible reading and prayer life.

Now I’m thinking about what God thinks about.
He said His thoughts are not like my thoughts.
That’s because my thoughts are selfish.
My very first one was a cup of coffee for myself.
My thoughts reveal worry, concern, and doubt.
I maybe wrong, but I think God has only one thought and that is for you and me!
We occupy His mind to the point He gives us salvation freely and desires to bless us abundantly. He has prepared a place for us.
His thoughts are not selfish other than wanting to bring you to Himself.
