Ezekiel 38:2
Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

When I first became interested in the end-times, I read many things about this event.
This chapter deals with an attack on the land of Israel by an enemy state. I was told that Magog was Russia and communism was the great enemy of God.
I grew up with the communists of the U.S.S.R. But I am not totally convinced that it’s the Russian’s we are dealing with here.
I think a greater enemy of Israel lies within the heart of Islam. And the “stan” countries fit the bill. Add some other Islamic nations like Persia (Iran & Iraq), Ethiopia, and Libya and you have a solid coalition of Israel’s adversaries.
God brings all of them to the mountains of Israel where they are defeated.
I can speculate all day about who, what, where, when, and how but I’ve learned one sure thing in my years of ministry – you cannot out guess God.
All I can say is a great war is still in the future and it involves the land of Israel.
And I want to side with God and Israel in the conflict.
