Joel 1:4
What the chewing locust left, the swarming locust has eaten;
What the swarming locust left, the crawling locust has eaten;
And what the crawling locust left, the consuming locust has eaten.

What a great way to start a sermon by telling everyone that’s lost everything they’re going to lose more.
The locust swarms totally devastated the crops of today and the food of the future.
Sin does the same thing by eating up a life. Sin eats up hopes and dreams. Sin devastates.
As Joel continues his ministry, he gives encouragement through repentance of sin and turning to God.
So, when your life feels empty and chewed up; when the future looks bleak, then take hope.
God says, “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust,” Joel 2:25
Jesus restores what sin destroys.
