Matthew 10:28
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

This life is the only life any of us know.
We may get a glimpse of the life to come through God’s word or the testimony of someone that died and revived.
So, this being the only life we really know, we are hesitant to give it up. We fight to survive to live.
Jesus doesn’t tell us to just give up and give in if someone wants to take our life. But He does emphasize not to fear such people. Fear God instead.
Man can only destroy the body.
God can destroy soul and body.
That is not what God desires to do.
He is not willing for any to perish but everyone to come to repentance.
Jesus came to give life.
