Matthew 16:26
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Everyone wants security in life through love, food, a home, warmth, and comfort. Some people will go to great lengths to acquire those things, often denying it to others in order to secure it for themselves.
I’ve noticed the rich and poor have something in common – both die in the end.
The homeless and those living in mansions have the same thing in common.
Gain the whole world and you still have an appointment with death one day.
Paul said, “What things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.” Phil 3:7
He had much going for him as a Pharisee. He was going somewhere in life as a persecutor of the church but he would lose his soul in return.
Christ changed his life.
Paul did not mind losing all for the gain of Christ and salvation.
You won’t be disappointed either.
