Jesus wept.

It’s the shortest verse in the Bible at just two words.
Jesus is a man of passion and there are several scriptures where He shed tears. But why did He weep here?
The Jews around Him thought it was because He loved Lazarus. I’m sure that’s true.
I wonder if He cried because He was about to resurrect Lazarus back into a world and life in which he would die again someday.
Of course, that’s just my speculation.
I believe He weeps overall lost souls, wayward Christians, and the devastation and pain people inflict on each other.
If only we would become more like Him and His passion for others.
