Romans 12:16
Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
Much like yesterday’s Morning Thought, this not only instructs you to be humble but to associate with others that are the same.
I’m not sure I have always done that.
I know I failed the last sentence.
When someone becomes a legend in their own mind, they are not humble.
When I moved to East Texas from the Houston area, I thought I was smarter than these “country hicks”.
I was a smart aleck, sarcastic, highly opinionated, and I talked non-stop.
My first evening playing volleyball with the church youth group gained me enemies and no friends.
Word is the other teenage boys threw rocks at me as I rode off on my motorcycle.
I could not have made a worse impression.
Hopefully, I’ve changed but I would be arrogant to say I’ve changed all the way and none of that behavior is a problem.
God is still working on me.
Good morning Mr. Swimoty,
When I clicked on the “read more of this post” for your devotion this morning titled “Still working on me” it tells me that the page cannot be found. Would you have a thought as to why?
Just wondering
Vicki
