1 Corinthians 3:16
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

I remember thinking, “well, that’s pretty neat” the first time I heard this scripture. I guess I was a teen at the time.
Just to think about the Holy Spirit living in me!
That is a sobering thought.
If we thought about it more each of us might become more conscious of sin.
However, I’ve seen people do things with their children in the car and they had little regard for their safety or the consequences of their actions. So why would the thought of the Holy Spirit with them make much difference?
It is clear from the preceding verses we all do things against the Holy Spirit.
If we do things against the Spirit, then it happens that we do it against ourselves also.
Paul makes this clear in chapter 6 when he says, “he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.” 1 Cor 6:18
So take care how you treat the Holy Spirit and yourself.
