Memorable Scripture: The Veil

2 Corinthians 3:13-16
unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.

Do you recall the story of Moses covering his face? It’s found in Exodus 34.
It seems he spent so much time in God’s presence that his face begin to glow with the glory of God.
This frightened the people so he covered his face.
There are still many people frightened by the glory of God – whether it’s a glowing face, speaking in tongues, slain in the Spirit, or just some old-fashioned, fire and brimstone preaching.
The twist is this, I don’t veil the Gospel but the hearers veil it on themselves.
The stop their ears, cover their heart, and close their mind.
If a crack in any of it develops and the message of Christ gets through it can take the veil away.
Today you will meet someone all veiled up.
Pray for its removal from them.
