Hebrews 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
I always thought this was a great verse.
There is something about how it’s worded that appeals to me.
The people once offered the sacrifice of animals.
Some offered the sacrifice of a captured enemy.
Still, others offered their own children.
There is no other living sacrifice to bring to God but yourself. (Romans 12:1-2)
Here, in Hebrews, you are told to offer the sacrifice of praise.
I learned quite some time ago that my prayers need to begin with praise rather than a list of demands.
The more I praise Him the less I demand of Him.
