Memorable Scripture: Milk, again!

1 Peter 2:2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,

The Bible mentions the milk in 1 Corinthians and Hebrews and now 1 Peter.
Biology says all mammals feed their young with milk.
It is the first basic food for a human baby.
It is the first nourishment and, normally, directly from the mother.
I remember hearing that a nursing infant begins a relationship with its mother because it stares up at her face.
The same is true when you cuddle a babe in your arms and give it a bottle.
I always tried to turn both my girls toward my body so they could see my face when I fed them with a bottle.
Milk must be simple but nourishing.
What is the most simple message of the Bible?
Love.
This is also the message a baby gets while nursing – that it is loved.
Above all, please know that God loves you.
This is His milk.
You “grow thereby” as you read the Bible.
Please know, there are some really “meaty” sections that are difficult to digest for new Christians.
Just like a baby cannot eat a steak on the first day of its life.
