In Eureka Springs, Arkansas is a statue that stands on a 1500 foot mountain.
The statue is 67 feet tall and is seen for miles around.
It is the Christ of the Ozarks, which sits on privately owned land, not public!
As some background, the statue is the brainchild of Gerald Smith, a minister, Nazi sympathizer, and anti-Jewish activist. I can tell you I personally don’t think much of him.
Despite Mr. Smith’s politics and religion, the statue is [supposedly] to honor Jesus Christ.
That said, an abortion activist group recently disguised themselves as construction workers, entered the property, and hung a banner across the 65-foot arm span.
The banner read “God Bless Abortions”.
A spokesperson for the group said, “We think Jesus would understand the concept of a difficult decision. He supposedly had to make a few of them and understood sacrifice very intimately. The Christ of the Ozarks is visible from miles away, so we just treated it like a billboard.”
Jesus was familiar with difficult decisions.
But He said it is the thief that comes to steal, kill, and destroy.
He came to give life and abortion does not give life.
It steals, kills, and destroys.
