2 John 10-11 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.
I think the church is in trouble.
I know Jesus said the gates of hell shall not prevail against it but He didn’t say it would not try.
The collapse of anything is not from outward forces but internal.
This is what is happening to the church.
Acceptance of doctrine not built into the foundation.
This morning as I glanced over the headlines of Christian articles, I ended on the Instagram of a “Christian” singer and author.
Some of the poses, the language, and her ideas seemed off to me.
It conflicted with my spirit.
The words were in contrast to the teachings I hold dear.
This is not the only example. I have witnessed it time and time again.
The gospel message and the word of God are skewed to meet the needs of a modern church.
Indeed, man was created in the image of God but the modern church is often creating God in the image of man.
Paul was dogmatic in avoiding those responsible for changing doctrine.
He said don’t invite them over and don’t say hello to them.
That seems rather harsh but Paul was not concerned with political correctness or hurting someone’s feelings.
He was concerned about the Gospel of Christ.
