This Day
Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” Continue reading
An Act Of Kindness
Take care! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired, because then you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.
When you give a gift to someone in need, don’t shout about it as the hypocrites do — blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity!
I assure you, they have received all the reward they will ever get.
But when you give to someone, don’t tell your left hand what your right hand is doing.
Give your gifts in secret, and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you.
Matt 6:1-4
Don't Twist It
Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest Acts 9:1
I find this to be such an ironic statement.
Paul, who proclaims that he was circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews ; concerning the law, a Pharisee; concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. Phil 3:5-6
That he also studied at the feet of Gamaliel, taught according to the strictness of our fathers’ law, and was zealous toward God. Acts 22:3
This Jew; this Hebrew was breathing out threat of murder!
The Law, which he so vehemently defended clearly stated you shall not murder. Ex 20:13
Though it seems to me what he was doing was against the Mosaic Law, Paul said concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
Though he was threatening murder, in the Law he was blameless.
I can only assume that he justified the killing of Christians, many of which were Jewish, to protect the integrity of Judaism.
Isn’t it funny how we will twist things around to our own advantage!
Christians aren’t above doing the same thing!
Take God’s word for what it says.
It needs no twisting nor improving from you or me.
It's About Jesus!
It’s only my opinion, but I think that church should be more about Jesus and less about everything else. Continue reading

Don't Be Idle Today
Did you hear the news story about the man who streaked through a Tennessee supermarket?
It’s kind of reminiscent of the Ray Stevens song The Streak, in which a character in the song also ran through a supermarket. Continue reading

The Soul Who Sins – Part 3
And the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
Does that really mean “all” or “some”?
Does “all” include just past sins? Or does it also include present and future?
Does being forgiven of “all” give us a license to sin more, since “all” those sins are also forgiven? Continue reading
