The Soul Who Sins
Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die.
But if a man is just and does what is lawful and right; if he has not eaten on the mountains, nor lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, nor defiled his neighbor’s wife, nor approached a woman during her impurity; if he has not oppressed anyone, but has restored to the debtor his pledge; has robbed no one by violence, but has given his bread to the hungry and covered the naked with clothing; if he has not exacted usury nor taken any increase, but has withdrawn his hand from iniquity and executed true judgment between man and man; if he has walked in My statutes and kept My judgments faithfully — He is just; He shall surely live!” says the Lord GOD. Ezek 18:4-9
I have had a few ministers quote the first part, “the soul who sins shall die”.
It is used as Godly evidence that if a person sins he/she is worthy of death, this I agree with.
But this verse has even been used on Christians that may commit sin, that they, too, are eternally lost and worthy of death.
I don’t see it that way.
I don’t diminish God’s word but after reading the rest of the scripture, I find myself guilty and failing as a Christian.
No one can walk in God’s statues and keep his judgments faithfully.
If I’m wrong, please point this wonderful person out to me.
I’ll tell you what it says to me next time.
Satan Wants My What?
I heard someone say the other day, “the devil wants to steal your joy!”
I’ve heard something like that most of my Christian life but this time it burrowed down into my soul and I started thinking about it.
“Why would Satan want to steal my joy? Continue reading
Unforgetable Wedding
Saturday started out with sunshine but that quickly gave way to clouds by mid-morning and rain by noon.
With the wedding an hour away to the west, I was hopeful that the squall line would pass on through and at least be dry by wedding time. Continue reading

What Do You Look Like?
Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’ hand when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him. Ex 34:29
