Hoarders

There is a reality show called Hoarders about normal people that cannot or will not throw things away.
They stash, stack, stuff, push, cram, ram, and pile things like magazines, cardboard boxes, collectibles, photo’s; just anything they can.

Most have mere trails through the mountains of stuff so they can move around their home.

It’s ridiculous how many things these homes are crammed with.

Now sanctify yourselves, sanctify the house of the Lord God of your fathers, and carry out the rubbish from the holy place. 2 Chron 29:5

There are Christian hoarders too.

They stash, stack, stuff, push, cram, ram, and pile things into their lives that are nothing more than rubbish. Things like unforgiveness, hate, anger, grudges, grief, griping, and the such, really have no place in the life of a Christian.

Like trash in your home, it needs to be taken out! Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and there is no room for that kind of rubbish!

Paul said this about it –

I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ. Phil 3:8

Don’t hoard. Make room for more of Christ in your life.

Abba, let’s take out the trash today and clean house! In Jesus name, YES&AMEN

King and Priest

2 Chron 26:18 They withstood King Uzziah, and said to him, “It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron, who are consecrated to burn incense.”

The king did not listen and broke out in leprosy for the rest of his life.

What was the problem? Uzziah was the king, not the priest!

Ps 110:4 The Lord has sworn and will not relent, ‘You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.’

Melchizedek was also king of Salem and a priest of the Most High God.

This is the other unique characteristic of this dynamic individual and one that is shared by Jesus.

In the Old Testament, there were kings and there were priests – but they were never the same person. King Saul offered a sacrifice and the kingdom was taken from him and given to David.

There is only One that deserves to be both King and Priest – Jesus Christ. And it is from the example of Melchizedek.

Uzziah and Saul needed to be what God wanted them to be but they tried to assume a position that was not theirs.

You, also, need to be what God wants you to be. If He has called you to only to be in prison ministry then you don’t need to be a praise leader in a church.
If your calling has you as a missionary in Mexico, then what are you doing pastoring in North Dakota?

You need to be where God wants you – doing what He has equipped you!

Abba, make me what You want me to be and put me where You need me to be. In Jesus name, YES&AMEN

A Sword will Devour

Those words were spoken to Israel during the days of Isaiah. It was a warning to repent from the path the nation was taking. That path was leading to destruction. Continue reading

Remove the Dross in Me!

proverbs-17-3I asked the Lord to help me know of His word; to learn more about Him. I want His thoughts to be my actions.

You may know that I have been a fan of SiriusXM Book Radio. I can listen to an audio book better than reading one. Continue reading

Beauty for Ashes

lubysI went to a gun show over the weekend, looking for a specific pistol or a concealed carry holster.
I did a sweep of the whole place, looking at guns mostly.
Then I came upon a vendor that was demonstrating a concealed holster. I liked the way it looked and its functionality. Continue reading

Enemies

It is obvious that the United States of America has enemies; enemies that are bent on destroying us.
They live in nations around us; they live in the nation with us.
I find it ironic that, while living in the USA, they enjoy the freedoms afforded everyone. They enjoy the goods and services that we all enjoy. Continue reading

9/11 – Retaliate, Rebuild, but not Return

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. Ps 33:12
In his inaugural address, President George Washington began talking about the “Almighty Being who rules over the Universe”, the Great Author of every public and private good, and the invisible hand of providence.
He said a nation such as ours could not have come into existence “without some Continue reading

Humble themselves and pray!

Like most, you’re probably familiar with 2 Chron 7:14.
It’s a verse that gives hope and encouragement to a nation, a people, and society.
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. Continue reading

Drought and Sin

It’s another rainy morning.
As I sit down to read my Bible, pray, and write, it is pouring down. It’s quite a stark contrast to last year.
In fact, I think we have had more rain in July than we received all of last year!
The drought was hard on us. Oppressive heat and lack of moisture dried out vegetation and brought on the worse wildfire in the state’s history. Continue reading

Refreshing Rain!

Let my teaching drop as the rain Deut 32:2
Last year was the worst drought I have seen in all my life.
It was the driest and the hottest that I ever remember.
Wildfires broke out all over the state; and Lake Sam Rayburn dropped and dropped to 18 feet below normal. Continue reading
