Linda and me on our wedding day in May 1979.

In 1979 I was getting ready to get married. The date was set for May 4th so there was much to do at this point.

I had read where God had said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” Gen 2:18 Continue reading

Grace is a gift not a reward!

grace1For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Eph 2:8-9

One of the harder subjects to understand in the Bible is grace. I believe part of the reason lies in the curse in Genesis Continue reading

There’s no comparison!

compareI want to continue with a look into Cain’s family.
Cain had little regard for serving God and offered a sacrifice but his heart was not in it.

Even the apostle had problems with people leaving him. Continue reading

The Reward of Sacrifice

Today I’m not exactly sure what my thoughts are. A situation has been building in our family and came to fruition last night.
It’s not the way I wanted it; my hand was forced.
Yet, as I fasted and prayed I have to believe that God orchestrated everything. Continue reading

I know I would feel that way!

Yesterday’s Morning Thought was about the Prodigal Son’s father. The question is about the actions, thoughts, and feelings of the father while his son was gone.

I asked the same question on Facebook and received these replies.

  • That father was doing nothing but praying, probably fasting and trusting God. Continue reading
