Good Fruit – Bad Fruit

good bad fruit copyTricky, tricky, tricky!
It got me to thinking and I realized something about deception.
I was looking at a website the other day and began reading through their material; very well done – very convincing. Continue reading

What can I do for You?

healing_of_the_blind_manThere are several places in the Bible where the phrase “what do you want me to do” appears. Most of them involve that ability to see.
In Matthew 20:32, Mark 10:51 and Luke 18:41, Jesus asked the question, “What do you want me to do for you?”
The response was “Lord, that our eyes may be opened”, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight”, and “Lord, that I may receive my sight.” Continue reading

Dangerous Ground

dangerous groundI must admit that sometimes I’m a little dense.
I consider myself a strong, resourceful Christian. (Boy, that’s really a humble statement)
I am able to do most of what is expected of me with little effort and this has led to a spiritually dangerous situation. Continue reading

The Right Words at the Right Time

In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry. Ps 20:1

God’s timing is impeccable!
Yesterday evening suddenly became a little nerve wracking. A couple of phone calls and some texting had me a little on edge about what was going to happen in the near future. Continue reading

What is and isn’t important!

The Storms of Life

Subways are a major mode of transportation and they are flooded.
Gas lines are hours long and there may not be any fuel once you get there. Continue reading

The logic of it all!

I like a logic puzzle. It’s a puzzle where you are given just enough information to arrive at a correct answer but you must use logic and deduction.
There was one on Fb the other evening but I was too tired to attempt it until the next morning. It was said that Einstein made this one up. Continue reading

Personal Sacrifice – God’s Reward

Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, “This is what the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘If you surrender to the Babylonian officers, you and your family will live, and the city will not be burned down.’” Jer 38:17
To really make a difference in the lives of others will often involve personal sacrifice. Personal sacrifice can often be uncomfortable. Continue reading

One Child at a Time

I imagine I can be quite frightening to little children. When they come to church and watch me preach, they get a glimpse of someone that paces back and forth while raising his voice and making wild gestures. Continue reading

Yom Teruah – The Lord Comes

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, Continue reading
