The Holy Spirit leads!

I recalled last time how I felt the Holy Spirit leading me to sing with a couple and I didn’t!

That seems to be one of the great characteristics of the Holy Spirit – to lead you.

He’s not only going to lead you to do something positive but to also lead you to do something that seems negative.

They were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. Acts 16:6

I can never emphasis enough that the Holy Spirit is not going to lead you to do drugs or lead you into multiple failed relationships and marriages.

This may cause some discontent but the Holy Spirit is not going to lead you to divorce since the Bible is clear that

the Lord God of Israel says that He hates divorce, Mal 2:16

But that’s not the purpose of today.

The Holy Spirit forbade the early evangelists from going into Asia, thus sending them more towards Europe.

So in reality this wasn’t a negative movement – it is a positive leading of the Holy Spirit to send the Gospel towards the heart of the Roman Empire, at that time.

Dallas Holm had a song years ago that was called Look for a Window.
The lyrics said:

Hot on the trail of God’s will
And getting warmer still
Got it together this time around
There’s nothing to stop you now

Stopped by the slam of a door
God, what’d You do that for
Sometimes we just don’t understand
How He wants to let us in

When God closes a door, look for a window
Oh look for a window
Don’t stand at the door, there might be a window
Oh look for a window

Responsibilities change
And so do our pathways
One way God shows which way to go
Is to let the old road close

Repeat Chorus

There’s no point in getting down on yourself
God is only point you somewhere else

Please open yourself to allowing the Holy Spirit to lead on what to do today and what not to do today!

Abba, lead me in all ways. In Jesus name, YES&AMEN

The Forgiving Husband

Mars Hill PDXIt is quite evident that your relationship with God is like the relationship between a married couple – for your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is His name (Isa. 54:5) and husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. Eph 5:25

Just as God has said, “You must not have any other god but me” (Ex 20:3) then you Continue reading

Seek God in your relationship!

Linda and me on our wedding day in May 1979.

Linda and me on our wedding day in May 1979.

My teenage years were quit tumultuous. My parents got divorced, mom and I had to move from the old neighborhood into some apartments, and I lost touch with the neighborhood kids.
Even when all of us ended up in the same high school, that camaraderie we once had was gone. Continue reading

Selfishness is a relationship killer

That answer is revealed later. Continue reading

It Can Change!

In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy.
And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do. 1 Tim 2:8-10 Continue reading

Change I Don’t Like – Change I Do Like

Last night I was thinking about all the changes around me.
I’ve settled down and have lived in the same house for 29 years and have been married to my wife for 32 years.
In that time I’ve had 2 different jobs in that time; the phone company for 15 years and my current one at the radio station for the past 17 years. Continue reading

Facebook wasn’t to blame!

I don’t remember the exact reason my parents divorced since it was almost 43 years ago. (I know Facebook wasn’t to blame.)
What I remember is some bickering among them; secret meetings with whispering.
It wasn’t until my mother packed her bags, grabbed me, and moved out that I knew something was really wrong. Continue reading
