Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested. 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 Continue reading
Encourage
Memorable Scripture: Don’t let anyone steal your blessing.
Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord: Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.’ ”
So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “Look, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?”
And he said, “In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.” 2 Kings 7:1-2 Continue reading
Inspire and encourage others!
Last time I took a look at the giants of Gath, including Goliath.
In the story a young man that was not a warrior took on a champion of the Philistines named Goliath. Goliath was almost 10 feet tall. Continue reading
Pushing Others!
Last time I looked at Preceding Others and how you pave the way for someone else.
I had things happen to me but only until I gave my life to Jesus. It would have been easy to go the opposite direction. But I had teachers, grandparents, friends that pushed me to be better.
History is full of evil and villains that were mistreated as children and ended up being psychotic killers or ruthless dictators without conscience.
It’s really no excuse. Each person is responsible for their own actions, whether good or bad. You have the choice to overcome the bad done to you. You can overcome it. Too many have already.
Sometimes it takes someone to push you in a positive way. I admire people like Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen who do such a great job at encouraging others to move forward.
I believe the best encouragement comes from the Lord.
Even Jesus had that encouraging person to pave the way for Him.
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! John 1:29
He pointed all of mankind to Jesus.
He could have said, “There’s another rabbi or preacher!”
But John pointed to Him as the Messiah – the Savior.
So how can you encourage someone today?
What can you say or do that will pull someone up and get their feet back on the ground?
Do it!
Abba, I just want to be a blessing to others. In Jesus name, YES&AMEN
Need a blessing – Give a blessing!
Sometimes you need a sign, some sort of confirmation on what you believe God has told you.
You need some scripture or a prophecy from someone you trust that speaks to your heart about the things God has laid on your heart.
Maybe such was the case with Mary. Continue reading
Quit stealing…
Listen to this, you who rob the poor and trample down the needy! Amos 8:4
Last time the subject was on being a thief.
After meditating on God’s word a bit more I realized it is more than stealing someone’s blessing by denying their giving; it is also about stealing their encouragement, happiness, hope, and joy. Continue reading
