Steve on the right, and me on the left around 1976.

I’ve had many friends over the years. I remember the neighborhood kids Lil’ Pat, Johnny, Stevie, and Rusty. When I entered first grade and there were even more kids.

My best friend in 1st grade was Jack. I don’t remember his last name at all – just Jack. Continue reading

The Right Words at the Right Time

In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry. Ps 20:1

God’s timing is impeccable!
Yesterday evening suddenly became a little nerve wracking. A couple of phone calls and some texting had me a little on edge about what was going to happen in the near future. Continue reading

See and hear what God has to say!

Linda and I have just returned from a pastor appreciation weekend getaway with our friends Steve and Kathy.
Our destinations included Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Beaver Bend State Park; then it was over to Oden, Arkansas where we stayed in a cabin on the Ouachita River. Continue reading

Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

andygillilandLast time I left you in some suspense with something that surprised me.
It was quite a shock the other night when I met an old phone man I used to work with.
We talked a bit about the ol’ gang and then he said something about a phoneman being killed just a week or two ago.
He couldn’t remember the man’s name but then he didn’t recognize me either.
But he said he was married to T. A’s daughter.
It hit me like a ton of bricks. Continue reading

lolo-and-zoeLet me catch you up on the border collies, the girls, as I call them.

Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim

Good Morning!

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

praying3What am I doing up at this hour?
I’ve been awake since 1:30am and finally went ahead and got out of bed.
I’m troubled.
I’ve been thinking and praying over the lives of some of my friends in church.
I don’t know what to do about them, except pray. Continue reading

Spilling The Beans

Today I went out to eat with Al & Michelle and Sherman & Nila.
While eating (which involves me not talking) I listened to the rest of them talk and I was glad Linda wasn’t there (for the sake of the rest of this blog).
I was privy to hear about how much “he eats”, she buys “these kind of shoes”, he “eats ice cream every night”, and what “she can’t resist”.
I learned more information than I needed to know as each husband talked about her and each wife talked about him.
I almost felt like I needed Level 5 CIA clearance.
Yet, though I enjoy her company, I was glad Linda wasn’t there to spill the beans on me or tell the others how often I spill beans on myself.
