As the Ark of the Lord entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she was filled with contempt for him. 2 Sam 6:16 Continue reading

How can I pray for you today?
I don’t know what led me to Nehemiah this morning. I could say I was looking for an answer to a question but I believe I’ll just say it was the Holy Spirit.
I actually started at the middle of the book and skimmed backward until I came to the first chapter. Continue reading
Yom Teruah – Day of Shouting
It’s Yom Teruah – the Feast of Trumpets!
Well almost!
It’s no big secret that I believe Yom Teruah will be the day Jesus returns. Yom Teruah means Day of Shouting, though teruah actually means great noise and this could include the noise made by trumpet blasts. Continue reading
I do and don’t understand but I believe!
Last night at church there was a question about Revelation. To be honest, I’m not sure it was answered.
If you have ever read the book, then you know some of the difficulties and the imagery involved.
Some things are pretty easy, like seeing a Lamb as though it had been slain (Rev 5:6) is obviously a reference to Jesus the Messiah Savior. Continue reading
Beauty for Ashes
I went to a gun show over the weekend, looking for a specific pistol or a concealed carry holster.
I did a sweep of the whole place, looking at guns mostly.
Then I came upon a vendor that was demonstrating a concealed holster. I liked the way it looked and its functionality. Continue reading
What will that child be?
I think it was my 7th grade school teacher that wanted every one of her students to give her a small school picture. Her reasoning was if one of us became an astronaut or president, she’d have a recollection of us and could say, “That was one of my students!”
I only have a vague memory of that year and so I’m not sure what each of those 7th graders have gone on to do. Continue reading
What is and isn’t important!
This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit. Matt 1:18
Yesterday I was doing some research on the birth of Jesus. Though His birth will be celebrated in less than a month, I don’t think He was actually born on December 25th. Continue reading
I know I would feel that way!
Yesterday’s Morning Thought was about the Prodigal Son’s father. The question is about the actions, thoughts, and feelings of the father while his son was gone.
I asked the same question on Facebook and received these replies.
- That father was doing nothing but praying, probably fasting and trusting God. Continue reading
A good laugh; a need for prayer!
It made for a good laugh in church last night and, as Brother Don said, we needed a laugh.
We have been studying in Ephesians for the past couple of months and have made it to the last chapter and the armor of God. Continue reading
The Real Work Begins!
It’s over!
Finally!
It seems like I’ve been watching political ads and rhetoric for the last two years.
But now it’s over! What has been done is done. There is no turning back – only moving forward.
You may be happy today or you may not. You may be optimistic about America’s future or you may be pessimistic about things. Continue reading
