Memorable Scripture: The subjection of evil spirits

Acts 19:13-15
Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.
And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Continue reading

Memorable Scripture: Rise, Kill, and Eat

Acts 10:13-15
And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”
But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”
And a voice spoke to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.” Continue reading

Memorable Scripture: Casting the Lot against You.

In the first month, which is the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, they cast Pur (that is, the lot), before Haman to determine the day and the month, until it fell on the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar. Esther 3:7 Continue reading

Memorable Scripture: Profane fire – Lake of Fire

Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord. Leviticus 10:1-2 Continue reading

A Lesson from the Christmas Story – Not Too Late!

It’s never too late to repent and turn your life over to God! As long as you have breath and there is a today, then there is an opportunity.

And it doesn’t matter how old or young you may be; or how much sinfulness you have committed – you can come to the Lord today.

The only ones to show up around the birth of Jesus were shepherds. Perhaps there may have been a few others – a midwife or a relative of Joseph or Mary that was living in Bethlehem at the time.
But certainly there was no pomp and circumstance at His arrival that drew masses of followers.

In fact, it was eight days after His birth when Joseph and Mary took Jesus for ritual circumcision, according to the Law.
While there two people came to them unannounced.

First, an elderly man named Simeon.

And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, [Simeon] took Him up in his arms and blessed God… Luke 2:27-28

Then an eighty-four year old woman named Anna also walked up to them.

And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem. Luke 2:38

So just because you may be late for the birth doesn’t mean it’s too late to meet Jesus. After all, most of the disciples won’t meet Him until He’s thirty years old.

So come meet Him today.

Abba, I pray for those that need to meet Jesus today. YES&AMEN

The Light never goes out!

Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter. John 10:22
The story of Chanukkah begins in the reign of Alexander the Great. Alexander conquered Syria, Egypt and Palestine, but allowed the lands under his control to continue observing their own religions and retain a certain degree of autonomy. Continue reading

Chosen In Christ

morning thoughts

Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

On yesterdays radio program, I was privileged to have Amy Downey as my guest.
She is a Christian evangelist to the Jewish people.
I, for one, cannot think of a better effort than to reach God’s chosen, though I believe He chooses us in Christ; He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world Eph 1:4 Continue reading
