Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
But that isn’t what you were taught when you learned about Christ. Eph 4:20 NLT
Several years ago Chris was pulled over by the police and arrested for DUI.
Years later he entered the armed forces only to continue in destructive behavior, including drugs.
He is now 27 and has been arrested and could be charged with manslaughter in an accident in which alcohol was a factor and someone was killed.
I’m sure he wasn’t raised up to get a DUI, his mother didn’t teach him to commit manslaughter, and he wasn’t schooled in drugs.
Yet something happened along the way, something went wrong.
It doesn’t just happen to kids on the way to adulthood, it also happens spiritually.
Children are sent or taken to church with the hope of salvation or at least each living a pleasing life for God.
But we know that doesn’t always happen.
Just as this young man drifted away from the life that would keep him out of trouble with the law, so many others drift away from God, getting deeper and deeper into the sin they were warned about.
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. Gal 6:7
Yet God in His mercy can turn our tragedy to His glory.
Linda and I heard from Chris and we pray that his life will be turned around and God will be glorified. We know He won’t be mocked.
