Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
It’s Thanksgiving Day!
I pray that you and your family have the best Thanksgiving.
I know something about you.
You have enough to provide Internet service for yourself and of course a computer.
Chances are you also have a home and a family.
You will probably eat a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with that family.
You’re doing very well.
I watched The History Channel last night with a special about the Mayflower and the Pilgrims.
After landing in the Massachusetts area in 1620, more than half of those making the voyage died in the first year.
The first year was wrought with disease, harsh coldness, and starvation.
It was not until after the harvest of the next year that they celebrated with a feast.
Still they were thankful to God for His providential watch and care over them.
As you celebrate today be mindful of those that have lost much this year, like a son or daughter in the war, stocks, a job, or a home.
Be prayerful for those that have nothing like the homeless.
And above all, Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. 1 Chron 16:8
