Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
I notice a few days ago that Google Earth has done the street view for Lufkin and Nacogdoches.
You can virtually drive down every street in those two cities.
The same may have been done around the area you live.
It’s really kind of neat to see the local sites on the computer and be able to “drive” around, turn down this street or that street, go to this address, drive by Wal-mart or some historic site.
It doesn’t stop there.
From Lufkin you can take a trip on Hwy 103 and drive right by my church.
You can turn on Hwy 147 and head south for a tour of Broaddus or turn north and see all of San Augustine.
Most of the major highways already have been added to Google Street View with cities, towns, and rural areas are being added daily.
It’s still not possible to drive down FM 1277 and see my house but that will probably change.
Wouldn’t it be awesome if there was a Google Heaven and you could take a virtual tour and see those things described in Revelation?
The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. Rev 21:21
And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Rev 22:1-2
For now we will just have to settle for touring places on earth but the day is coming when all that know Jesus as Savior will get a grand tour of that heavenly place.
