Morning thoughts from Pastor Tim |
|---|
This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. |

This salmonella/peanut butter thing is ridiculous.
It has come to light that the company knew they had a mildew problem on their hands and still said nothing about it, didn’t deal with the problem, and continued to manufacture the product and distribute it for public consumption.
I know why.
Profit!
It’s a “What’s in it for me” attitude.
When workers are laid off but bosses keep their jobs; when one company buys another company and then closes it down, letting all the workers go; when prices go up because of fuel cost but never lower when fuel does, then it’s pretty clear that greed has caused someone to say, “What’s in it for me?”
It’s not a new problem!
It’s one that Habakkuk dealt with and questioned God about how long he’d have to withstand all of this; in other words, “What about me, God? What’s in it for me?”
God’s response was, “Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked; but the righteous will live by their faith. Wealth is treacherous, and the arrogant are never at rest. They range far and wide, with their mouths opened as wide as death, but they are never satisfied. In their greed they have gathered up many nations and peoples.” Hab 2:4-5 NLT
You may not have caught the first part of what God said so let me give it to you again; the righteous will live by their faith.
This is repeated for us (the thick headed) several more times: Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, and Hebrews 10:38.
Now let’s ask, “what’s in it for me?”

Those who think about rewards here don’t realize that God is the eternal rewarder. It’s better to do without here than THERE. Harold came in from work yesterday saying he didn’t unerstand co-workers thinking. God simply said, What fellowship does light have with darkness? That’s it in a nut shell! Blessings on you & yours today.
