What Do They Read In You?

Yesterday I saw a young lady and notice she had a lion emblem on a necklace.
This lion was positioned in such a way that it resembled very closely the one that is the symbol of Iran.
The exception is the Iranian lion has a sunset behind it and is holding a sword.
Nevertheless, I couldn’t help but comment about it.
She told me it was Phoenician and she thought it was cool.
Now the young lady is a Christian but wears a pagan symbol.
It got me to wondering how many pagan symbols I wear.
I remember reading several years ago about an symbol called an Italian horn.
I also read the symbolism; those that wear it have given up their virginity to practice sexual orgies.
When I told the young man what it meant I never saw him wearing it again.
See it’s not just what YOU think about what you’re wearing but also what OTHERS think about what you are wearing.
Would you gladly wear something in America that was satanic in nature in Peru?
What if you ran into a Peruvian today?
This is what the Word says; beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak. For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating in an idol’s temple, will not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat those things offered to idols? And because of your knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? But when you thus sin against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never again eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble. 1 Cor 8:9-13
As Christians we should not offend.
It is also written, let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Phil 2:3-4

  1. In America we enjoy liberties found no where else in the world. As those from other cultures move in, to enjoy our kind of freedoms, they bring in their restrictions wanting us to adhere. There is no arguement with the Word of God. We must be in good blance with understanding and wisdom. Perhaps we should seek His guidance on what we wear. Isn’t it written that we should dress modestly anyway? If we are obedent to the Word who can stand against us?
