Real Stress

On Wednesday evenings our church has been taking a look at what the Bible says about sickness and health.
We have seen where much of our physical problems deal from spiritual, emotional, and mental problems.
For instance, it is written envy is rottenness to the bones. Prov 14:30
This tells me that jealousy, envy, wantonness, and covetousness can throw the body into bad health; it is rottenness to the bones.
Another verse says that an excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones. Prov 12:4
I’m sure this verse would work both ways and that a bad husband or wife can ruin the health of the other.
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression (Prov 12:25) or as the NLT says, Worry weighs a person down.
As you may know, I had a stress test last Friday, to check on my heart, which is pretty sound.
But I can think of nothing more stressful than not having Jesus as my Savior.
Think about standing before God and this comes true; “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matt 7:21-23
It is important not to play religion with God.
There is no “maybe” or “almost” to salvation; either you are or you aren’t.
Jesus said that the unprofitable servant will be cast into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ Matt 25:30
Crying and grinding the teeth sounds like stress to me.
Don’t subject yourself to this stress test.
Accept Jesus as your Savior today!

  1. I was praying for your stress test to reveal nothing wrong with your heart. Your devotions are such a blessing to me each day…there is much for you to do for the kingdom….maybe at a slower pace!!!!!
