What Should Work For One Should Work For The Other

I was up at 1am last night…this morning…whenever!
The alarm at the church went off in the sanctuary.
Once I arrived, a quick survey of the windows indicated no breakage there so it was internal and probably a bug or something on one of the motion sensors.
Indeed I found a spider happily living right above one of them.
When I called the police department to tell them what had happened, the dispatch asked me, “Do you need any help?”
“No, ma’am” I responded, “I can kill the spiders myself!”
I forgot to lay down a barrier of bug spray around the motion sensors this year.
The thing is I had just done this at work for the same problem.
What works in one place will usually work in another so if you have motion sensors where you work, in your church, or in your home the bug spray should work for you too.
It would stand to reason that the same is true of church.
What works in one should work in the other.
It is written there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 1 Cor 12:4-5
In other words there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Eph 4:5-6
These are the inspired words of God and yet we have differentiated ourselves in the Father’s house.
We have made ourselves different when there should be no difference.
We have forgotten that at one time the church was one church; one people worshipping one God.
I should be able to preach God’s word in my church and in yours.
Are we not using the same Bible?
Do we not call the same Jesus as Lord?
What should work for one should work for the other!
Let’s get the body together!

  1. From the O.T. we see prophits speeking that which has not yet occoured, but we believe they will. Today we know to wait, wait and see if what is said comes about for there are many “wise” speakers. The smiplest word can be forgotten, not even remimbered when it does come about. Way back then the church was one body. The continueing theme in the Bible is that we are, even now, one body. The Bible says nothing about being seperated into different groups in heaven. So, you’re right! Why can’t we get along here & now. As adopted children of Abraham when we say a bad thing about each other are we not curseing Abrabham? So then we wonder why we have so much trouble in this life. Lord Jesus forgive me.
