Another Thanksgiving has come and gone.
The turkey and dressing is but a memory.
The cranberry sauce has been eaten.
The potatoes and green bean casserole – done!
Sweet potatoes are history.
The only thing left may be a piece of pie or cake.
So many look forward to a long weekend with family, friends, lots of food, and a football game.
Just because Thanksgiving Day is over is no reason to stop giving thanks to God for His blessings, which come every day, not just once a year.
The Psalmist knew this and said, “Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving.” Ps 95:2
I am thankful to have a day off; a day to spend with family and enjoy a great meal but I should be thankful every day for my family and for every meal I get.
Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Ps 106:1
Holidays come and go.
Food gets eaten and forgotten.
Family arrives and family leaves.
But God’s salvation is eternal; it endures forever.
I am very thankful for my salvation.
I am thankful that God extends forgiveness not only to me, but to everyone.
That’s worth praising God!
Thanksgiving was never meant to be shut up in a single day. ~ROBERT CASPAR LINTNER
If you want to turn your life around, try thankfulness. It will change your life mightily. ~Gerald Good
Thanksgiving Day comes, by statute, once a year; to the honest man it comes as frequently as the heart of gratitude will allow.
