Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
2 Corinthians 7:1-3
– Keep your eye on the prize lest we be cheated of all Jesus paid a great price for! His blood still speaks on our behalf and is very effective against the voice of temptation hounding you to sin! Forgiveness is sweet but the wages and consequences of sin are still our price to pay for following the wrong voice!

1st John 3:2,3 from the N.I.V. is the verse that always makes me want to remain pure.
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know, that when He appears,we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. Everyone who has this hope in him purities himself, just as He is pure.
If once we sin, we can lose our hope, and when we lose our hope(take our eyes off Jesus) we can lose our purity.
