Yes! Spring Is Here! Arise!

Linda was off for Spring Break and I decided to take a week of vacation with her.
Lindsey and Jeff had a trip to San Francisco, so we did some house and dog sitting for them.
For most of the week we went geocaching, of course.
However it’s more than about finding hidden containers; for me it’s about seeing obscure little towns and communities along the way.
It’s about their churches and schools; their homes and the cemeteries.
It’s about the historical markers we come upon that give a brief explanation of what took place here so long ago.
It’s about noticing what God has done, how He has painted the landscape or dotted it with flowers and trees.
His handiwork is easily seen when you will take time to look at it.
We came upon a freshly plowed field next to an old crumbling house.
In front of the field was, what I describe as wild tulips, at least that’s what they looked like to me.
They added color to an otherwise unnoticeable place.
We didn’t drive on by; we stopped and I grabbed the camera for a quick photo session.
In the Song of Solomon the young woman says, “My lover said to me, ‘Rise up, my beloved, my fair one, and come away. For the winter is past, and the rain is over and gone. The flowers are springing up, and the time of singing birds has come, even the cooing of turtledoves. The fig trees are budding, and the grapevines are in blossom. How delicious they smell! Yes, spring is here! Arise, my beloved, my fair one, and come away.’” Song 2:10-13 NLT
Perhaps God is telling us to wake up and smell the roses; winter is past and spring is here.
It is time to give up the old, dead, and decaying ways and be reconciled to God in newness of life.
It is time to recognize God in all aspects of your life and acknowledge Him.
It is time to blossom for Him and add ‘color’ in an otherwise unnoticeable place. Praise His name!
