Get Rid Of Him – All Over Again

They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them. And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying:
“Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Hosanna in the highest!” Matt 21:7-9
Traditionally the Sunday before Easter is the day of the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.
He rides in on a young donkey, fulfilling Old Testament prophecy; Zech 9:9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.
Even though Jesus came just as the prophet had promised; and even though the people welcomed Him, shouting praises to God, it only took a few days before they were shouting, “Crucify Him!” Mark 15:13
Now it’s almost 2000 years later and the same thing happens.
We proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior, giving Him praise for being the fulfillment of scripture; for being the Christ, the Messiah.
And then some just toss Him aside as if to say, “Crucify him” – Get rid of Him, all over again!
I’ve seen many come to church, say their prayer, make their profession of faith, follow through with baptism, only to return to their old ways as if nothing has happened.
And maybe nothing did!
But what many do not realize now, just as they did not realize then, is Jesus is the Christ.
Jesus will continue to fulfill all scripture.
This includes His return, His reign, and His judgment on all that have not made a true commitment to Him.
Repent!
Receive Him as your personal Savior and get His forgiveness for your sin.
Then live for Him each and every day!

  1. It’s to late to be shy, to beat around the bush, THE LORD IS COMMING! Yes with tenderness speak. And if one does not want to hear then they’ve made their choise. We are commanded to go and tell of God’s great love through His Son, Jesus, THE SAVIOUR. It does cause me pain to see those profess Christ as Saviour and live as though He does not exist. It is God who will decide who has truely recieved Christ. My prayer is that I be found worthy of Him.
