Worldnetdaily.com has reported that NBC’s opening of the U.S. Open Golf Championship included two readings of the Pledge of Allegiance, but omitted the phrase “under God” both times.
The program commenced with children standing in a classroom setting, as they recited an abbreviated version of the Pledge, saying: “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, with liberty and justice for all.”
The Pledge of Allegiance was abbreviated even more moments later, as the children stated, “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, with liberty and justice for all.”
A spokesmen for the network issued an apology during the U. S Open saying, “We began our coverage of this final round just about three hours ago. When we did, it was our intent to begin our coverage of this U.S. Open championship with a feature that captured the patriotism of our national championship, held in our nation’s capital for the third time. Regrettably, a portion of the Pledge of Allegiance that was in that feature was edited out. It was not done to upset anyone, and we’d like to apologize to those of you who were offended by it.”
It was never mentioned that the words “under God” were omitted…twice!
My opinion is this: since it is written into the Pledge of Allegiance, then SAY THE WORDS!
But I honestly know where these people are coming from; it is written in the Bible.
Rom 1:28 – even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;
It doesn’t end there so I’ll take a look more of this next time.
Pray for the USA; pray for the church; pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
so, I saw this on Fox and thanks to them for commenting on it, you too

When the pledge was written in 1891, “under God” was not in it….It was added later. “In 1954, Congress after a campaign by the Knights of Columbus, added the words, ‘under God,’ to the Pledge” http://oldtimeislands.org/pledge/pledge.htm You shouldnt have to believe in God to be an American..but if you choose to live in America, YOU’D BETTER show my country RESPECT and swear allegiance!
