Last Saturday my church had our annual Back-To-School outing at Lake Tejas.
As I always like to do, I was on the edge of the water taking pictures of our group.
It’s hard to look inconspicuous when you’re pointing a camera with a big zoom lens at people.
At one point, I was taking a picture of Courtney.
One of her friends that were with her said, “There’s a creep with a camera taking a picture of us!”
Courtney replied with, “That’s not a creep; that’s my pastor!”
Then they all started smiling and posing.
Later, as I was trying to get pictures of Haylee jumping off the high dive, 2 other girls thought I was photographing them and they started posing, smiling, and waving.
I’m sure I may have creeped them out too.
My view was on Haylee or Courtney but it was misunderstood by those that could not look through the camera lens and see what I was photographing.
There was a day in Jesus life when He began telling His disciples about His impending death.
Peter took Jesus aside and told Him that it must not be.
Jesus turned and looked at his disciples and then said to Peter very sternly, “Get away from me, Satan! You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.” Mark 8:33 NLT
Peter was not looking at the death (and resurrection) through the view of God.
He couldn’t see the big picture or the long range plan; all he knew was he didn’t want Jesus to die.
I wonder how many times I don’t see things as God does.
My viewpoint is not God’s viewpoint and I’m the one that thinks God isn’t seeing clearly!
The day is coming when we shall all see things through God’s viewpoint; Now we see things imperfectly as in a poor mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. 1 Cor 13:12 NLT
So next time God doesn’t do thing the way you see it, don’t get creeped out; just accept that He knows what He is doing!
What a great post, Tim! It’s way too easy to assume that our limited viewpoint is the “real” perspective. But God sees our situations from every angle.
Have a blessed week!

And yet many people do not see life from your point. You helps a young lady out and people imply you did it for a return of “favor” when you only intent was to just help. You smile a kids playing and the mothers snatches them away because you violated them some how when you were only happy because you could see God’s love in them.
Our world in corrupt but people do not always seem to be doing what you think they are doing. When they find out they are wrong they should appoligize and get on with life….

Great post =] I try to keep that in mind when I’m going through something I just don’t understand and want to ask God why he’s letting it happen.
