Become Accountable

I take my Christianity very seriously!
I try not to do anything to bring dishonor to my Lord and Savior; this is a full time effort that seems to be getting easier as years go by.
Perhaps it is because for so long I have worked at not cussing, not getting excessively angry, watching where I go, and avoiding danger zones on the Internet.
There comes a point where you do it so much it becomes 2nd nature to you.
Still, my 1st nature is a sinful one.
Each of us needs a reminder of the capability of temptation and sin to infiltrate our lives.
This is where accountability comes in handy.
David is listed as a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22) but it was Nathan that held him accountable with “You are the man!” 2 Sam 12:7
Peter was such a man with colorful language, began to curse and swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Matt 26:74
Later Peter was the Pastor of Pentecost; but Paul said, “I had to oppose him publicly, speaking strongly against what he was doing, for it was very wrong.” Gal 2:11 NLT
I tend to think that everyone is doing as I am and trying to discipline the ungodliness from my life.
It’s just not so.
Some need a bit more accountability to stay on the straight and narrow.
It is written obey your spiritual leaders and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they know they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this joyfully and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit.Heb 13:17 NLT
Of course your spiritual leader must be following God’s precepts too.
Church is a great outlet for accountability and spiritual stability.
It’s sad that I see so many that lack the basics skills of Christian living to get started on the way to Godly living.
Attach yourself to a God fearing church and seek the council and accountability of some loving Christians that are willing to help you!
