A definitive statement on living for Jesus.

I saw a Facebook status pop up on Sunday evening from a young college girl in Texarkana.
This is what she said; Don’t go out and get drunk on a Saturday night and the next morning make a status about how much you love Jesus. Be one way or the other! Revelation 3: 15-16 “I know all the things you do, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were one or the either! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!”
If only there were more young people like this; making a definitive statement on living for Jesus.
There are far too many “Christians” that are living worldly or as Paul told the Corinthians, you are still carnal. 1 Cor 3:3
Christians are making sinfulness acceptable by the inability to call it sin and abstain from it.
The words of Jesus to the Laodicean church hold true.
He also said you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’ — and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked Rev 3:17
It’s as if today’s Christians are purposefully fulfilling this scripture by not needing Christ Himself!
Sure He comes in handy when the doctor gives a bad report or a child gets hurt; but He’s not so important that they want to worship and honor Him any other day of the week except Sunday; maybe!
Jesus says, “I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.” Rev 3:18
To buy gold, these days, will take sacrifice and you’ll probably have to give up something to afford it.
Unlike gold, salvation is a free gift from God. But like gold it will still take sacrifice and giving up something to follow Jesus.
It you were wearing something clean and white, you’d try really hard to keep it that way; you wouldn’t go mudbogging or cleaning windows.
And when you’re wearing the holy garment from the Lord, you sure don’t want to get it all messed up with sin.
I’ve been wearing corrective lenses for over 40 years. I would give anything to see clearly without them.
I know many cannot relate to that.
Similar is my spiritual vision; once I “saw the Light” I never want to walk in darkness again.
I can understand what Jesus is saying to the Laodicean’s.
His message is to depend on Him; to seek the blessings He has to offer; to rid your life of anything opposed to His holiness.
It is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. Rom 13:11-14
