Don Smith is a friend, a brother in Christ, and a leader at CrossRoads Christian Center Church.
He teaches Sunday school and has filled the pulpit on occasion.
Recently Don posted his testimony on Facebook.
A testimony is a powerful weapon against the forces of evil.
His testimony is one of a God given gift thrown in the gutter.
It’s a testimony of wasted time, effort, and life.
The testimony is one about drugs, sex, and more drugs.
It’s about trying to end it all with a bullet.
More important, it’s a testimony about a praying mother and the power of the risen Savior.
In the little space I have to write I cannot do justice to what he wrote.
Each and every born-again believer has a testimony.
It may not include drugs and suicide attempts; it may not have murder or adultery in it but it will have an account of sin and how a Savior can forgive and cleanse from that sin; any sin!
Every testimony ends the same way – Jesus saves!
The Bible says and this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 1 John 5:11
Don’s life is much different now since he asked Jesus to save him.
His life is more abundant, just as Jesus promised.
He no longer seeks to destroy his own life; and now he seeks to save others.
This is not unique to Don.
I, too, have a testimony.
Perhaps I never did drugs or alcohol but I still needed the forgiveness of a Savior.
There is no sin that the blood of Jesus cannot take care of .
It is written if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Please accept Jesus as your own personal Savior today.
And you will be like Don and me, with your own testimony of God’s saving grace!
And they overcame [Satan} by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
