People of faith; People of works

Then Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spoke to the sons of Heth, saying, “I am a foreigner and a visitor among you. Give me property for a burial place among you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.” Continue reading

Be content with your blessings!

I didn’t realize that people griped, complained, moaned, and groaned so much until I got involved with Facebook!
If discontentment could be weighed, it would weigh a ton; thus there is a ton of discontentment on Facebook! Continue reading

Be who you are!

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous — and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, Continue reading

Use what you have!

As you may know I like photography!
I also like to read, study, and teach the Bible.
Perhaps you’re like me and have admired beautiful pictures with scripture. Any time I go into a Christian book store I love to go to that section and admire the art. Continue reading

Do what you can!

On June 21st a storm rolled through late in the evening; I remember because I documented the damage with pictures.

Apple founder, Steve Jobs has died.
This is an individual that was driven by perfection to give you a simple, one-button product that didn’t need an instruction manual.
I have an iPhone and enjoy its features from texting and making phone calls to posting on Facebook or listening to audio books. Continue reading

A reason to give!

It’s a week of Sharathon at work and my mind is on equipment and fundraising.
After a couple of weeks of editing audio testimonials about giving, my mind is also on the reasons people give.
I heard a testimony of a mom whose daughter, Emily, has cancer. Continue reading

Taking care of God’s stuff!

I recall several years ago when my eyes were opened to the meaning of stewardship.
It’s not something I heard preached or taught about as I was growing up. When it was the subject I got the wrong idea about it.
For years I thought stewardship was taking good care of the things that God had given to me. Continue reading
