The technology of salvation

I have an iPhone 4S, which comes with Siri.
Siri is a speech-recognition computer application. It has both speech input and output, meaning you can speak to it, and it can speak back to you.
You speak to Siri to ask it questions and give it commands, such as small tasks that you’d like it to complete.
A great example happened to me on Wednesday.
As I was driving around the loop in Lufkin, I received a text from Linda.
She said, “Pizza would be nice!”
I told Siri to reply with “From where?”
I didn’t have to take my eyes off the road or write the text; Siri did it for me.
Linda replied with, “Papa John’s!”
So while I’m driving around I’m wondering how do I get the number for Papa’s John’s?
I asked Siri to get the phone number for Papa John’s Pizza in Lufkin.
A few moments later she said, “I have the number for Papa John’s on South Street in Lufkin. Would you like me to dial the number?”
“YES!” I said, and she did!
Pizza was ordered and I never had to really look at the phone while driving.
It is great!
I foresee technology growing more and more complex to make life easier.
I foresee mankind becoming more and more dependent on this technology.
Even now it has begun.
Can we really live without electricity, telephones, satellite TV, computers, refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, washers, and dryers?
People use to; but not anymore.
Debit cards have made it easy to buy goods and services without having cash in your wallet.
Imagine the day when you go to the grocery store, load up your cart, and walk out to the car.
As you exit the door a scanner reads the information of all the things and deducts the amount from your checking account.
No more waiting in line; not even the express lane!
That day may happen.
It is written he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Rev 13:16-17
I can see that many will take this mark as a matter of ease and convenience.
But like all leaps and bounds in technology, it comes with a very high price of dependence and slavery.
The individuals are binding themselves into an unholy covenant for the sake of an easier life.
The irony of it all is how simple and easy salvation through Jesus is; there are no great feats to perform and nothing really difficult to do except believe and receive.
The technology of Salvation does not lie in gadgets but in giving your heart to Jesus.
Still there are great numbers of people that will not submit to the will of God.
