Thieves!

Thieves have been busy! I’m not necessarily talking about the ones that tore apart the air-conditioning units at Macune Baptist and Crossroads Christian Center Church.
As terrible, offensive, inconvenient, and costly as that is, both of our church’s will replace and try to better secure new units.
The real thievery is taken place every day by ordinary people, many of whom call themselves Christian and many others that attend church regularly.
I can honestly say that if someone is brazen enough to steal from a church then this verse applies to them – They do not say from the heart, ‘Let us live in awe of the Lord our God’ Jer 5:24
There are some of the aforementioned that could have the same applied to them; they will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. 2 Tim 3:5
Their heart is not into living for Christ.
Their heart has no fear – no reverence for God.
As the prophet Isaiah said, “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me.” Isa 29:13
To live in such a way is robbery.
The ones that stole church property and the ones that sit in church every Sunday but are far from God are thieves.
The object of their theft is their own blessings from God! Your wickedness has deprived you of these wonderful blessings. Your sin has robbed you of all these good things. Jer 5:25
I, for one, do not want to be robbed of my blessing by me! The worse thief is the one that will steal from himself!
One way I received a blessing from God was to pray for the perpetrators of my church; to pray for their repentance and salvation.
When I did, God release in me a peace and calmness; I was able to set aside my anger or desire for retribution and worship Him.
Don’t allow yourself to be robbed by the actions of another that upset you.
Don’t allow yourself to be robbed of a blessing by your attitude or actions.

  1. No matter what happens in life it always boils down to the same answer, TRUST CHRIST. Sounds simple. The example God gave us with Peter walking on the water is excellent. Peter did the right thing, kept his eyes on Jesus, then he did the wrong thing, took his eyes off Jesus. Then he choose to let go of the world and focus on God. God is faithful & will acomplish the work He started even though we fail. He waits for us to make that correct choise. Brother Tim, Your walking on water now. Praise God.
