Last night Linda and I attended the Broaddus Elementary Sixth Grade Graduation.
This is another group of kids that Linda had in Pre-K.
A group that once cried for momma and had a nap time.
A group that had “accidents” and playtime.
A group that moved a “bone” on the wall when they failed in discipline.
They’re all grown up now and moving on to Jr. High School and are half way through their public education; in six more years each will graduate high school.
Some may continue by going to a college or university and others may enter the job market.
I know there seems to be a lot of useless information being taught. Most will not use the algebra or geometry they’ve learned. They won’t give a second thought to the dynasties of China or world history.
Regardless, the day will come when each one will have to put their education to practical use.
The same can be said of Christians – it is time to put our education to practical use.
The Message Bible says it this way; You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving. Col 2:7 (Message Bible)
The church does not need to be filled with students, but should be filled with teachers that are tutoring others in God’s ways!
Each one of us should get a B. A. (Born Again) and then move on to a Ph. D. (Praise Him Daily).
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim 2:15 KJV
In college I answered a question with information that had not been brought out in class. I was asked to show proof. I did! I got an “A”. As old as I am in the Lord, still I find new, & exciting truths in God’s written Word. It’s even more exciting when I share it with older saints & discover it’s new to them. I used to think death would be the end of my schooling. Not so! Heaven will be an everlasting learning adventure.
